Well, what to do if one of you lives in Holland, and the other one in Italy? Keep on driving up and down, take another flight again?
That was the situation that we, Michel and Sara, found ourselves in about 12 years ago. And when our son Ariel was born, things turned urgent really quick.
The solution: find a place somewhere in the middle! And that’s how we, together with our son and latest addition daughter Joelle, came to live in the beautiful area of Nouvelle Aquitaine in France. At about 1000 km from my old place in Holland, and the exact same distance from Sara ‘s hometown, it turned out to be the perfect place for both of us.
After having worked several jobs in the area, we then had the opportunity to run this small campsite on the Dordogne through friends of ours.
At first we were a bit skeptical about running a campsite, but after having seen and experienced the beautiful site of La Champagne, we completely turned around. It is exactly the kind of campsite where we would love to spend our own holidays; a small campsite on the Dordogne with a limited number of entries, super large pitches, lots of trees and shade, in the middle of wild nature, and a totally relaxed and tranquil vibe. To us it’s the perfect spot.

And luckily, our guests seem to feel the same way. Since we’ve been running the campsite, we have had incredibly positive feedback from our guests, and the large number of guests that come back for seconds or thirds is the proof of the pudding, as well as the great reviews we receive on sites such as Zoover and Google reviews.
We hope to meet you this year at our lovely small campsite on the river to come and enjoy this wild and beautiful area with us.
Have yourselves a great Holiday,
Michel and Sara
